<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device in which a date and time of recording or the like can be printed at a desired position when there is a print request from an external PC or the like. <P>SOLUTION: When there is the print request from an external PC 22, it is judged whether or not PC print data save is instructed in advance (ST1) and when the print data save is instructed, an original is printed while attaching a print date and time and a serial number at positions designated in advance (ST2). At the same time, print data with the date and time and the serial number are transferred to a designated folder of a file server 21 (ST3). Such processing is performed with respect to all print-requested pages (ST4).
