PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simply preparing a color conversion table with high accuracy without depending upon the number of colors and the quality of an object by photographing the object with a plurality of colors. SOLUTION: When a digital still camera photographs a color chart with reference exposure and with aλ-hold shift amount from the reference exposure, two types of chart image data having information having different YCbCr color specification values are generated. A relation determining part of a printer that has received the data writes a correspondence relation between the YCbCr color specification values of chart image data and a reference color value of reference image data in a first table and also writes a correspondence relation between the YCbCr color specification values of the chart image data and modified reference image data generated by reflecting the difference ofλ-hold exposure on the reference image data in a second table. A color conversion table preparing part prepares a second color conversion table between a YCbCr color space and an L*a*b*color space on the basis of the two correspondence relations written in the tables.
