SAMPLING OFFSET CORRECTION IN ORTHOGONAL FREQUENCY DIVISION MULTIPLEX SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A sampling offset correction in OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex) system is provided to solve a problem in a conventional sampling offset correction method that has required to correct both a sampling frequency offset and a sampling phase offset for the correct synchronization of a receiver because the both give adverse effect on the performance of the receiver. CONSTITUTION: The OFDM receiver corrects a sampling offset when detecting it in a time domain. The OFDM receiver applies over-sampling to a training sequence or symbol included in a received OFDM signal(62), correlates the over-sampled training sequence with a store copy(66) of a round-off version of the training sequence(64), searches for a correlation peak(70) and obtains the sampling offset(72) by calculating a difference among correlation samples existing around the correlation peak.
