The invention relates to a belt (10) for supporting strips (S) of rubber which are used for the manufacture of tyres. This belt comprises a central band (12) on which a strip (S) is placed and along the sides thereof air chambers (13, 14) are provided. Advantageously said chambers are divided transversely into segments (13a, 14a, 13b, 14b). The belt (10) according to the invention, together with the strip (S) placed on it thereof, may be rolled up onto a reel, keeping the air chambers (13, 14) under pressure so as not to compress the rubber strip between the turns of the winding. The invention also includes an apparatus for using the belt. |
