The invention relates to a method of supporting the dialog between a user and a target device and a computer for editing the information for a target device to support the communication between a user and the target device and also to a computer program product with which the steps in accordance with the method can be executed. In order to provide such a method and such a computer, by which a simple dialog between the user and a target device and a wide application, that is not just restricted to computers on the Internet, can be achieved, it is envisaged that the user is identified and user-specific data, which are used when editing the information for the target device are stored in a database.
