Control device for spraying of fountain solution in a printing press by means of electrically controlled spray valves in a ramp providing a single source spray control system

A microcontroller (5) controls spray valves (2) in a ramp (1) via conduits (4). The individual current signal through each conduit is created in the microcontroller which has a voltage supply (6) and a communication receiver (7). The supply of electric pulses to the valves is fed back to the microcontroller for an indication of the valve functionality. The microcontroller has a sensor portion (5') with temperature, pressure and flow sensors for the fountain solution in the pipe (3) to the spray ramp. These parameters are used by the microcontroller to determine correct spray pattern from the valves. An Independent claim is given for a method of controlling the spraying of a fountain solution in a printing press.
