A sintered elecrode for an electrochemical generator such as a fuel cell is made by pressing and sintering at 650-800 DEG C. a powder mixture consisting of 90-95% by weight of a first metal selected from Ag, Ni, Cu and stainless steel and 10-5% by weight of a second different metal selected from Al, V, Co, Cu, Mn, Fe, Ir, Ag, Ni or their oxides and salts and combinations of the metals, oxides and salts. The powder size is preferably 1-10 microns and in the examples given the first metal is Ag or Ni and the second powder is a mixture of Al2O3, AgNO3 and Co(NO3)2 or Ni. |
