APPARATUS FOR DETECTING SURFACE DEFECTS OF ROLL

PURPOSE: An apparatus for detecting surface defects of roll is provided to improve accuracy of rolled product by injecting defectless and clean roll into rolling line and reduce manufacturing cost and prevent line stopping time by preventing cracking of the roll caused by defects remained on the roll. CONSTITUTION: In a surface defect detecting apparatus comprising a probe both ends of which are rotationally supported by supports(102) of grinder(101) to detect surface defects of roll(104) whose surface grinding is completed, the apparatus comprises a screw member rotationally installed between the supports; a movable block mounted on the screw member so that the movable block is straightly moved along a rotation direction of the screw member; an extension member which is extended upward from the movable block, and on an upper part of which a mounting stand is mounted; and an oil supply member which is rotationally installed on a lower part of the mounting stand, and on the outer circumferential surface of which a plural protrusion type oil discharge parts contacted with the surface of the roll are radially installed, wherein oil is supplied onto the surface of the roll if the oil discharge parts are contacted with the surface of the roll, and oil is not supplied onto the surface of the roll if the oil discharge parts are separated from the surface of the roll while the movable block is moving as the screw member is rotated.
