PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for sucking a wire-shaped body by which a wire-shaped body such as disconnected optical fiber can securely be sucked so that the operation time for removing the disconnected optical fiber can be reduced, and the operability and productivity in the production operation can be improved. SOLUTION: The apparatus has a nozzle 11 for sucking optical fiber 80, and the inside of a suction port 13 of the nozzle 11 is formed of a sleeve 14 made of a resin which can be detached and attached.
