PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket for electrical components, possible to be miniaturized, and capable of coping with electrical components used for high frequency because the overall length of a contact pin can be shortened, and to provide its disposition structure. SOLUTION: In this IC socket 11 disposed on a printed circuit board 16, the contact pin 19 is disposed on a socket body 17 wherein an IC package 12 is stored, and the printed circuit board 16 is electrically connected to the IC package 12 through the contact pin 19. The socket body 17 has a base part 18 and a contact plate 20 provided so that it can be freely moved upward and downward with respect to the base part 18, and the contact pin 19 is held in the contact plate 20.
