PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing zirconia sol, by which hydrolysis reaction can be safely and efficiently advanced and preferably next washing process can also be simplified by removal of chlorine ion, and to provide a method for producing zirconia fine powder using the method for producing the zirconia sol. SOLUTION: In the method for producing the zirconia sol in which an aqueous solution containing a zirconium salt is hydrolyzed by heating, ozone-containing gas or ozone-containing water is continuously or intermittently introduced into the aqueous solution.
