PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clamper classification sorting method in which sorting of clamper classification is conducted without using a clamper classification sorting port. SOLUTION: Sorting of the classification of a clamper 102 is conducted by using a speed control section 104 which is a normal resource of a disk device that is controlled by a control section (a microcomputer) 108, a speed detecting section 105 and a timer section 106. In other words, a spindle motor 103 is accelerated by a prescribed acceleration till a target time while controlling the section 104, speed information of the spindle motor is obtained from the section 105 when the target time is reached and the sorting of the clamper classification is made based on the speed information.
