PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image processing apparatus, image processing method and program thereof, which is capable of correcting distortion aberration of an image with accuracy, and to obtain a recording medium with the program recorded thereon. SOLUTION: This image processing apparatus is provided with a first calculation means for finding the equation of an ellipse when pixels of a distorted image in a digital image before correction are arranged on the arc (L<SB>M1</SB>, L<SB>M2</SB>or L<SB>M3</SB>) of the ellipse. The apparatus is provided with a second calculation means for newly creating image data of each pixel on a line by using the image data of the pixels where the arcs (L<SB>M1</SB>, L<SB>M2</SB>and L<SB>M3</SB>) expressed by the equations of ellipse pass, or image data of both the image data of the pixels through which the arc passes and the image data of the pixels adjacent to the pixels through which the arc passes. Moreover, the apparatus is provided with a third calculation means for substituting the image data of the digital image before correction to the image data created by the second calculation means.
