PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IC socket having an elastic mechanism for opening and shutting, elastically holding a cover member to a socket main body to which, an IC package is mounted, by utilizing contacts. SOLUTION: The IC socket, comprising the socket main body, a cover member vertically movable against the socket main body, and a plurality of contacts on which the IC package is put and supported, has the elastic holding mechanism elastically holding the cover member.
