<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery with a high capacity, high storage characteristics, high cycle characteristics, and less gas evolution, and to provide a nonaqueous electrolyte used in the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery. <P>SOLUTION: This nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is equipped with a negative electrode and a positive electrode both capable of storing and releasing lithium, and an electrolyte comprising a nonaqueous solvent and a lithium salt, and the nonaqueous solvent contains 0.01-8 wt% at least 8 C or hipher cyclic calboxylate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
