PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a temperature rise in a light source part and to prevent a temperature in the vicinity of the light source part in a casing from becoming high. SOLUTION: A projection-type display device 1 is provided with the light source part 3, a light modulation means 4 modulating light irradiated from the light source part and a video projection means 5 projecting modulated light and displaying a video. The casing 2 is provided with the necessary members of the light source part, the light modulation means and the video projection means. The light source part has a light source 8 and a lamp house 10 shielding the light source from the casing. At least a part of the lamp house is formed of a metal 11 and an air flow forming means 6 forming an air flow 14 flowing along the metal of the lamp house is installed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
