<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the optical durability of an iodine polarizing plate formed by laminating a protective film to a polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) resin film on which iodine is adsorbed and oriented and to provide a method for manufacturing the iodine polarizing plate. <P>SOLUTION: The iodine polarizing plate is is formed by laminating the protective film on the PVA resin film on which iodine is adsorbed and oriented through a transparent adhesive layer, wherein the adhesive layer contains a hydroxy-carboxylic acid compound selected from hydroxy-carboxylic acid like lactic acid, and its derivative and the amount of the hydroxy-carboxylic acid compound occupying in the entire part of the polarizing plate is 5 to 9,000 mg per 1m<SP>2</SP>of a<SP></SP>polarizing plate. The amount of the hydroxy-carboxylic acid compound is regulated to 2 to 97wt% based on the weight of the adhesive layer. The method for manufacturing the iodine polarizing plate by using the transparent adhesive containing the hydroxy-carboxylic acid compound of 2 to 97wt% based on the amount of the entire solid content of the adhesive is also provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
