摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration in quality by preventing a glass fine particle body from becoming non-circle or uneven thickness. SOLUTION: A glass rod 13 is rotated and reciprocated in the direction of its center axis under a state that its one end is held by a moving mechanism 14, and the other end of the glass rod 13 is held by a vibration-damping cap 15 which is driven by a cap driving mechanism 19 controlled separately from the moving mechanism 14 and which can follow the glass rod 13 while synchronizing with the moving mechanism 14. Thereby, since the both ends of the glass rod 13 can be held, it becomes possible to prevent the vibration of the glass rod 13 without strongly suppressing the glass rod 13 from both ends.
