PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a counting system of the number of operating machines, which does not need human help and can optically check the number of operating machines of all parlors mostly at a time under a same condition instantly. SOLUTION: In each pachinko machine in a pachinko game parlor, a judgment is made whether the pachinko machine 1 is in an operation status or not based on detection of light emitted from a luminescence source 2 when a handle grip portion 1a is turned in order to discharge pachinko balls, and the number of the operating machines is counted. Light is taken in from one end of optical fiber cable 3 behind the the pachinko machine, and the other end section of the above-mentioned optical fiber cable 3 is fixed in a bundle in a detection device 4. An imaging unit 5a of a CCD camera 5 is installed facing to the bundle of the cable 3, and the bundle of the above-mentioned optical fiber cable 3 in the other end section is taken by the CCD camera 5 and theimage signal is transmitted to a parlor terminal 7. And the terminal 7 performs an image processing, and it is transmitted to a host computer 11 exclusively used for data processing. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
