PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate-like hollow structure made of a chlorine-free synthetic resin stock, with which the recycling of resources and the prevention of environmental pollution and disruption are contrived, which has an excellent mechanical strength, cushioning properties and heat insulating properties and is excellent in water resistance, soundproofness or the like, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: This structure comprises a front sheet layer 1 and a back sheet layer 2, both of which are arranged parallel to each other at a predetermined interval in the direction of thickness are made of a chlorine-free synthetic resin material, and an intermediate layer 3, which is laid between the sheet layers 1 and 2 and made of the chlorine-free synthetic resin material. Further, the intermediate layer 3 is formed into a tongued and grooved shape in a lateral width direction so as to connect both the front and back sheet layers 1 and 2 with the tongued and grooved shaped portion en bloc through the fusion of their respective abutting surfaces.
