PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waterproof camera allowed the expansion of functions and having superior portability and operability. SOLUTION: The waterproof digital camera 1 is provided with an integrated circuit 16 or the like in which CCDs (charge coupled devices) or the like are mounted on a camera body 2 constituted to have a waterproof function, and has a function of photographing an object. An opening section 12 closable with a demountable cover member 11 is formed in the camera body 2 to retain the interior of the camera body 2 in watertight. When the cover member 11 is removed from the opening section 12, a replacement unit 3 is connected through the opening section 12 to the camera body 2 and is mounted on the camera body 2 to close the opening section 12 in watertight manner.
