<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength band selectable optical switch 1 capable of selecting any wavelength bands from all the wavelength bands of an optical input signal, and using them as output wavelengths of optical output signals. <P>SOLUTION: This wavelength band selectable optical switch is provided with a one-to-m splitter 2 (SP) serving as a beam splitting device and a plurality of wavelength tunable filters 3 (TF<SB>1</SB>-TF<SB>M</SB>). The one-to-m splitter 2 to which the beams of wavelengthsλ<SB>1</SB>toλ<SB>N</SB>are inputted splits each beam into m pieces of beams of wavelengthsλ<SB>1</SB>toλ<SB>N</SB>and sends them to m pieces of wavelength tunable filters 3 (TF<SB>1</SB>to TF<SB>M</SB>). Since m pieces of output terminals of the m pieces of wavelength tunable filters 3 are able to separately select any of the wavelength bandsλ<SB>1</SB>,λ<SB>2</SB>,λ<SB>3</SB>, toλ<SB>N-1</SB>,λ<SB>N</SB>, each output terminal can arbitrarily switch the output wavelengths. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
