PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the yellowing of rice, the growth of a nasty smell and the degradation of taste during temperature keeping and to make the rice delicious by reheating it to a high temperature close to the temperature just after cooking at the time of serving it in a rice cooker with a temperature keeping function for heating a pot holding an object to be cooked therein by a heating means. SOLUTION: The object to be cooked is put in the pot housed inside a rice cooker body 7, and the pot 1 is covered with a lid 8 and heated by the heating means 5. When the temperature of the cooled object is kept after cooking, opening or closing or opening/closing of the lid 8 is detected by a detection means 9, and a result detected by the detection means 9 is stored in a storage means 10. On the basis of stored data in the storage means 10, re-heating start time at the time of the next temperature keeping is controlled by a heating control means 3. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
