The invention relates to an air-permeable moulding tool (1) for embossed film stamping in a negative deep stamping method for the production of embossed components, by means of cladding a film on the component. The moulding tool is embodied in steel in the shape of a contoured shell, whereby an etched embossing is applied to the component-side surfaces (9) of the shell wall (5), which is transferred to the film (23) before or during the cladding in the deep stamping process and whereby a number of holes are produced in the shell wall of the moulding tool (1) which pass through the wall and are produced by laser or by erosion, for the extraction of air and exerting suction on the film (23).
