<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a plate thickness at high precision from the most tip end portion of a material to be rolled without affecting with the existence of water, etc., stuck onto the material to be rolled. <P>SOLUTION: The plate thickness of the material to be rolled with rolling mill is measured by using a plate-thickness meter disposed at the outlet side of the rolling mill. After removing a variation component by treating the measured plate thickness result with a low-pass filter, when the material to be rolled is controlled to a target plate thickness based on this plate thickness result, a time constant of the above low-pass filter is set to a small value x<SB>1</SB>till the point t<SB>1</SB>of time passing through the tip portion of the material to be rolled and further, set to a large value x<SB>2</SB>at the point t<SB>2</SB>of time when the rolling is reached to the normal state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
