PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for controlling an ice maker preventing clogging of an injection pump due to micro-freezing of water in regard to an ice maker suited for mounting on a cup type automatic vending machine. SOLUTION: In an arithmetic control part 7a, when an ice making part temperature reaches a temperature of a state causing micro-freezing of water and clogging of the injection pump, injection of water to the ice making part is temporarily stopped, the ice making part is sufficiently cooled until the ice making part temperature reaches a temperature of a state wherein ice making is possible even when water is injected on the ice making part, and then, water is injected on the ice making part to make ice.
