PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain clear printing by providing the action of adjusting so that a gap between a hammer mechanism part and a platen is almost constant at any time of starting driving and continuous driving in relation to a shuttle mechanism part of a dot printer. SOLUTION: When the gap between the hammer mechanism part and the platen opposite to the hammer mechanism part varies mainly due to the deformation caused by the thermal expansion of components of the hammer mechanism part in accordance with a temperature rise by heating from each heating source at the time of continuous driving, the deformation of the hammer mechanism part is suppressed by a mechanism which adjusts the thermal expansion of components of the shuttle mechanism part. The gap between the hammer mechanism part and the platen is held to be almost constant, thereby enabling clear printing. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
