An optical base (20) of an optical pickup has a sliding portion (21) that is slidable relative to a mounting object, a component mounting portion (27) mounted with optical components, a laser diode fixing portion (22) fixed with a laser diode 1, and a photodiode fixing portion (25) fixed with a photodiode (9). The sliding portion and the component mounting portion are formed by resin molding. The laser diode fixing portion and the photodiode fixing portion are formed by an iron plate.
