摘要 A process for dyeing polyolefins, e.g. polyethylene, polypropylene or polybutene, comprises (i) adding to the polyolefin (preferably in 1 to 20% by weight) a condensation polymer of melting point from 100 to 300 DEG C. and containing the recurring unit: <FORM:0951981/C3/1> or <FORM:0951981/C3/2> wherein R and R1 are methylene, cycloalkylene, benzene, fused benzene, heterocyclic rings or derivatives of any of the foregoing; X and X1 are H, alkyl, amino, benzene, fused benzene or derivatives of any of the foregoing; and n is 1 to 200; (ii) forming the mixture to a desired shape, e.g. fibre, filament or yarn, (iii) treating the shaped article with an aqueous solution containing at least one aromatic carboxylic acid, and (iv) simultaneously or subsequently dyeing in known manner, e.g. with disperse or acidic dyes. The condensation polymers contain triazole, triazoline or triazolidine rings and preferred are polyalkylene-triazoles or -aminotriazoles. In examples the condensation products used are (1) polyoctamethylene triazole derived from sebacic acid dihydrazide and hydrazine hydrate, (2) and (3) polytetramethylene N-benzal-aminotriazole derived from adipic acid dihydrazide condensate and benzaldehyde, (4) or (6) polyphenylene methyltriazole derived from terephthalic or adipic acid dihydrazide condensate and sodium methylate + methyl iodide, (5) cyclohexyl dicarboxylic acid dihydrazide condensate reacted with nitrous acid, (7) polyaminotriazole + polybenzalaminotriazole, (8) polyphenylene acetaminotriazole, (9) polytetramethylenetriazole obtained from adipic acid dihydrazide and hydrazine hydrate, (10) sebacic acid dihydrazide condensate, (11) isocinchomeronic acid dihydrazide - hydrazine hydrate condensate, (12) mixed adipic acid dihydrazide - sebacic acid dihydrazide condensate and (13) tetramethylene aminotriazole - tetramethylene triazole condensation polymer. The aromatic carboxylic acids used in the examples are salicylic, gallic, benzoic, cinnamic, chlorobenzoic, nitrobenzoic, and anthranilic acids.
