Apparatus and process for press bending glass sheets

A machine (1) for pressing-bending glass sheets comprises preheat furnace, pressing-bending unit (I) and tempering unit (II). At the level of (I), some lateral supports (8) independent of conveying device are provided for contact with longitudinal sides (24) of glass sheet (2), at the end of a pressing-bending operation, and guide longitudinal sides towards displacement of sheet from (I) to (II). An Independent claim is also included for a method for the pressing-bending of a glass sheet incorporating a stage where lateral supports guide the sheet from the pressing-bending unit into the tempering unit.
