PURPOSE: An air conditioner is provided to easily mount all kinds of decorating members for improving the quality of the exterior view in an indoor unit for the air conditioner. CONSTITUTION: An indoor unit for an air conditioner has a case constituting the external appearance. A suction grille through which air is sucked in is installed to one of the rear and the sides of the case and a discharge grille(12) through which air is discharged is installed to the front side of the case. The suction grille comprises a rear suction grille installed to the rear of the case and side suction grilles(11S) installed to the sides of the case. The case has a rear case(10R) open forward and a front case(10F) covering the open portion of the rear case.
