HEATING AND COOLING DEVICE USING HYDROGEN STORAGE ALLOYS AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A heating and cooling device using hydrogen storage alloys and a control method thereof are provided to continuously supply delightful heating and cooling air to a user by preventing discharge of undesired air into the room at the early stage of cycle conversion. CONSTITUTION: A heating and cooling device using hydrogen storage alloys comprises a housing(10) having an air suction passage for suctioning in air from the outside and indoor and outdoor exhaust passages each guiding the air exchanged with heat to the room and outside; a pair of reactors(20,25) filled with the hydrogen storage alloys; a damper(40) rotatably installed in a space between the reactors, to separably guide the air passing through each reactor to the indoor and outdoor exhaust passages; indoor and outdoor blowing units(30,35) forcibly sucking in the exterior air through the air suction passage and forcibly sending air to the indoor and outdoor exhaust passages through each reactor; a hydrogen passage pipe(50) connected to the reactors; a pumping unit(60) producing the forced sending force to forcibly send hydrogen from one reactor to the other reactor; a directional control valve(70) installed to the hydrogen passage pipe to control the forced sending of the hydrogen; and first and second temperature sensors(91,92) installed on a side of each reactor to measure the temperature and send the temperature to a controller of the heating and cooling device.
