A control device (28) and method of making the same are provided, the contro l device (28) having an axially movable shaft (54) for moving a movable valve (46) into its latching positio n with an electromagnetic unit (51) and also being rotatable from a first position thereof to a second position thereof t o cause an electrical switch (81) to be in a closed condition thereof, the switch (81) being a normally closed switch and being in series with the electromagnetic unit (51) so that the electromagnetic unit (51) cannot have an electrical current flowing therethrough unless the switch (21) is in the closed condition thereof.
