PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reproducing device which has high operability by using a multiscreen to display program contents in a list and selecting the program contents to retrieve a program, has a small circuit scale for the retrieving circuit by performing retrieval with an index signal, and can be configured at a low cost. SOLUTION: A recording circuit stores the image of the programs sectioned by index signals in a multiscreen at the beginning of a magnetic tape, and the multiscreen is displayed in a list when the program is retrieved. One of the programs displayed on the multiscreen is selected and automatically retrieved by counting the number of index signals from a reference point such as the beginning or end of the tape.
