PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an image pickup lens whose constitution is simple and whose optical performance is excellent. SOLUTION: The image pickup lens is constituted of a doublet obtained by bonding a concave-plane homogeneous lens and a radial type GRIN lens whose both surfaces are plane and having positive refractive power, and a brightness diaphragm to restrict luminous flux is arranged near the surface of the doublet on an object side. By satisfying a condition (-1<ϕ<SB>sh1</SB>/ϕ<0), a condition (-2<d×ϕ<0.5) and a condition (-0.015<1/V<SB>1</SB><0.015), the lens system whose constitution is simple and whose optical performance is excellent is realized.
