<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new cutter, the method for manufacturing it and the use of it. <P>SOLUTION: The cutter is coated with a TiBN film which is the mixed phase of TiN and TiB<SB>2</SB>as the cladding material for the grinder. The boron content of the film is 6 atomic percent or more, and the deposition speed should be higher than that of the TiN layer and the TiB<SB>2</SB>layer each.
