PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner having a constitution where user's attention is invited to perform an appropriate operation corresponding to an environment varying from time to time or a state of the apparatus itself, and the user is requested to provide a proper instruction. SOLUTION: The air conditioner has a liquid crystal display 5 for displaying various information, and an indoor unit 1 including one of an air cleaner 14, a ventilator or a dehumidifier 19, and a humidifier 20. When contamination, temperature increase, or temperature decrease of the indoor air is detected, the liquid crystal display 5 displays announcement for promoting performance of an air cleaning operation, a ventilation operation, a dehumidifying operation, or a humidifying operation. The display of the announcement by the liquid crystal display 5 uses back light color different from normal display, or is performed together with a sound or a voice. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
