CHITOSAN/ACIDIC BIOPOLYMER HYBRID FIBER AND CULTURE BASE FOR ANIMAL CELLS

It is intended to provide a three-dimensional base appropriate for culturing animal cells such as cartilage cells or fibroblasts. This three-dimensional base, which comprises a chitosan/acidic biopolymer hybrid fiber composed of chitosan or its salt as the inside of the fiber and a complex of chitosan with a bioabsorbable acidic biopolymer coating the fiber surface, is made of a fiber capable of retaining its shape after allowing to stand in Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium (DMEM) containing 10% of FBS (fetal bovine serum) at room temperature for 2 weeks.
