<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a required service to a user not having knowledge about functions and performances of apparatuses of an information processing system (client server system). <P>SOLUTION: Each of the information processing apparatuses 101, 104, 111, and 117 connected to each other through a network 110 is provided with QOS tables 102, 105, 112, and 118 for registering the functions and performances. When a device is connected to the network 110, the QOS table is automatically registered to the local directory 108 of the network, agents 103, 106, 113, and 119 convert the content of the QOS table into service information and provide the converted information to the user through a user interface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
