PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a solid state laser amplifier and a solid state laser for generating a high output high quality laser beam stably with high efficiency through a simple arrangement at low costs. SOLUTION: The solid state laser amplifier comprises a solid state element 3 containing an active solid state medium, a flow tube 20 passing a refrigerant for cooling the solid state element 3, a condenser 8 having an inner diffuse reflection surface disposed around the solid state element 3 to hold the flow tube 20 while clamping directly, a pumping light source 4 disposed on the outside of the condenser and emitting a light 40 for pumping the solid state element 3, and an opening made through the condenser 8 in order to guide the pumping light 40.
