PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adhesive tape that can fully block pores of a porous surface simply by sticking substantially onto the surface and can furnish excellent masking effect (sealing effect), without works such as sealing, narrowing and crushing of the pores. SOLUTION: This adhesive tape has an adhesive layer at least on one surface of a tape substrate. In using the tape, the adhesive layer is stuck onto a porous surface. The adhesive layer comprises 8-30 wt.% of a polydimethylsiloxane that is soluble in toluene. When the content of the polydimethylsiloxane is less than 8 wt.%, diffusion of the polydimethylsiloxane into the pores in the porous surface is insufficient. When the content exceeds 30 wt.%, the cohesion of the adhesive declines so that shape preservation of the adhesive tape will be difficult. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
