PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a plasma display panel which generates stable images. SOLUTION: A gas discharge panel comprises a panel substrate 4 having display electrodes 1, a panel substrate 8 facing the panel substrate 4 and having data electrodes 5, a sealing member 9 located between the peripheries of both substrates to form a gas discharge space between the panel substrates 4, 8; and partitions 7 formed on the panel substrate 8. The method for manufacturing the gas discharge panel comprises a step for assembling the gas discharge panel by using the panel substrates 4, 8 and the sealing member 9, a step for mounting a piping member 13 to the panel substrate 8 having a through-hole where the piping member 13 communicates with the gas discharge space through a through-hole 8a formed in the panel substrate 8, a step for filling the gas discharge space with a discharge gas by using the piping member, and a step for sealing the piping member with the pressure around the piping member higher than the inner pressure of the discharge gas.
