PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device having a structure in which the amount of light emission to be taken out in a certain direction is increased in the light emitting element, and to provide its fabrication method. SOLUTION: In this device, an etching process is carried out so that a curved face having a radius of curvature is formed on the upper end of an insulation 19, a part of the first electrodes 18c, 18d is exposed to form a slope in accordance with the curved face, and the first electrode 18b is exposed in the region which becomes a light emitting region. The total amount of light to be taken out in the arrow-direction shown in Fig. 1 (A) is made to increase by reflecting the light emission from an organic compound layer 20 on the slope of the first electrodes 18c, 18d.
