PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup lens capable of obtaining the performance suitable for installing on an image pickup apparatus, especially small sized one, whose image pickup dimension is comparatively small. SOLUTION: The image pickup lens is a lens system with a two group two lens constitution equipped with a 1st lens L1 and a 2nd lens L2. An aperture diaphragm St is provided at a position closer to the object side than the first lens L1, that is, on the side closest to the object of the image pickup lens. The four surfaces of the 1st lens L1 and the 2nd lens L2 are all aspherically shaped. Also, a diffraction optical surface may be used for at least one of the four faces. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
