PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide, in a simple structure and at a low cost, an underwater camera housing in which a camera capable of remote control photographing with a remote controller can be stored in a state of maintaining its waterproofing property. SOLUTION: A waterproof underwater camera device 1 comprises a camera body 10 held in a camera body housing 30, a remote controller 20 held in a remote control housing 40, and a connecting member 50 freely turnable in relation to the housings. These housings are articles molded from plastic. Each housing is formed from a housing body and a cap that is free to be fitted/unfitted on/from the housing body. The camera body 10 does not require an operation button such as a shutter. This simplifies the structure of the camera body housing, and hence the structure of a molding die. Accordingly, the camera body housing can be produced at a low cost. Further, one kind of camera body housing can be used for two or more types of cameras in common. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
