PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively use an old storage device without any specification change or modification when a new storage control device is introduced into an existing storage device system. SOLUTION: A host computer and a first storage control device are connected together via a first communication path. The first storage control device and a second old storage control device are connected together via a second communication path. The first storage control device receives a first data input/output request from the host computer via the first communication path. If the first storage control device determines that it is not responsible to the first data input/output request, the first storage control device transmits a second data input/output request matching the first one to the second storage control device via a second communication means.
