PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably secure a contact state between a photoreceptor and a developing roller while reducing variation in pressing force between the developing roller and photoreceptor during transmission of rotation from a driving source. SOLUTION: The developing device has the photoreceptor 7 where a latent image is formed, a developing unit which is supported to swing to the photoreceptor around a support shaft part 8, and the developing roller 5; and a developing-roller driven gear 501 constituted integrally with the developing roller is connected to a driving gear 503 which is arranged on the side of an image forming device through a driven gear 502 arranged in the developing unit and the driving gear and the driven means arranged in the developing unit are so arranged that the transmission point 231 of the driving force of the driving gear and the driven gear arranged in the developing unit nearly meets the position of the support shaft part.
