摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for selecting various anti-aliasing filters applied to objects of image data to be rendered with pixel sub-component precision, on the basis of attributes of objects of graphics images. SOLUTION: Conventional anti-aliasing applied in a direction parallel with stripes of pixel sub-components at the time of character rendering is made to meet requirements peculiar to individual character font sizes so that much anti-aliasing may be provided for large font sizes and little anti-aliasing may be provided for characters of small font sizes. Substituted sampling is utilized to determineαvalues for a plurality of vertical samples of respective each RGB pixel sub-component, and a selected anti-aliasing filter is applied to them to determine luminance of the RGB pixel sub-component.
