PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quartz glass crucible having a transparent glass layer containing no bubbles and impurities substantially on the inner surface. SOLUTION: The quartz glass crucible has the transparent glass layer formed on the inner surface of the quartz glass crucible by laminating glass chips composed of a quartz glass purified by vacuum fusion on the whole or a part of the inner surface of the quartz glass crucible and heating and fusing to integrally weld. Each of Ti, Fe, Ca, Cu, Na, K, Li, Mg, Ba, Ni and Cr contained in the transparent glass layer is preferably≤0.1 ppm and the content of the bubbles is preferably≤0.01 vol.%. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
