A fluid dynamic bearing design featuring a shaft (202), a first (210) and second (212) conical bearing affixed, respectively, to a first and second end of the shaft, and asymmetric seals (216, 218) on each bearing. The asymmetric seals pump fluid into reservoirs on the first and second conical bearings. Assymetric grooves (300, 302) are provided for on the bearings to pump the bearing fluid towards the outer ends of the shaft. |
